...He was just sick as balls and didn't really spend any time on the computer.
Happy Slightly Belated Birthday Shanndo!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so sorry I never wished it sooner. Yesterday was so blah for me. I hope you at least had a good day. I woke up feeling so ill. I was all sniffly and having cold sweats and it felt like someone punched me in the head with a hammer. So yeah, while you were probably out having a great day, I was sitting at home feeling like balls. I was in and out of naps all day. It also didn't help that our downstairs neighbours were making a ruckus mid day. It was like those mf'ers were having a fiesta or something. So I stomped around for a bit bbefore I jumped into another nap. And it's now 6:14 am and I'm awake. Blah...
But I do feel better which is a plus. We'll definitely go out for a nice supper when you guys get back. There's a new sushi place that opened up on Circle Drive. And it's all you can eat for only 25 bizzos! And it's actually pretty good sushi on top of that. So we shall definitely hit that up. We can make a little evening of it. Kat should be down visiting by then too. And they have tons of veggie stuff there. Sounds fantastic to me! Deals? Deals.
I do think your Martha Stewart Living subscription might have run out. I haven't seen one come by recently. And I don't have a credit card to renew your subscription else I would. Wah wah, sawry...!
Man, I wish I could be ballin it up in Korea with you guys. With hundreds of thousands in the bank AND pseudo-celebrity status? Big Bang and Girl Generation are probably kicking down your door wanting to party ith you!
Oh and this is pretty swizz. Romp.com lives!

And you can download the movie, Jake's Booty Call, on torrent sites! I'm waiting for it to finish as we speak.
Dan and Dee are also back in town. Danny's renovating Earl's house on McKercher. So they'll be here for a while. On that note, a little bit after they got here, they got a phone call from Kelowna. Turns out the neighbouring house, the one that Uncle Danny built, the one that we stayed in, the one that Sean and Jess are living in, turned out to be...wait for it...A GROW HOUSE! Cops raided it shortly after Dan and Dee got here. So they had to call Uncle Danny and question him about the blueprints for it for whatever reasons since he was the one that built it. Isn't that crazy tho? I guess the whole upstairs was gutted out, like all the walls knocked down, and it was one big growing floor. That's so crazy. I don't get why you would rent out the basement of a grow house tho. Sure, Sean and Jess would be cool, but what if it was Suzy Do-Gooder that moved in? Yikes... I'm probably gonna head over to Ray's for supper one of these nights and get all the details. I only found out through Pris when she was cutting my hair. It's pretty much how I catch up on all the family gossip.
Well, that's about it for now. I'm gonna try to get some more sleep before I have to go to work in 5 hours. Ugh, I don't even need the Freehouse. I barely even eat or drink there anymore, so who cares about the discount? Anyways, hope the day of birthday was wonderful. Sorry again for missing sending the wishes on the actual day.

Chris REALLY sucks at maintaining a blog...!
Hoooooly, did the novelty of having a blog disappear fast. So sorry I haven't updated in so long. (To you, my 3 faithful readers...) It's just one of those things that I get in my head is gonna take a long time, so I keep putting it off and off and off. I guess it didn't help that this POS 7-year-old comp was on the fritz for the past week too (very much to my and Kat's dismay, I will also add). But now it's up and running and I'm online again. Woots!
Where do I even start? I guess the last thing I posted was pre-Scotty Doesn't Know. So... Europe was sooooooooooooo-pah awesome! I can't get over how good it was to check out. And we only went to Lille and Brussels. The whole experience was pretty cool though. Except for being stuck in arports for hours on end. Well, Calgary's really. All the other airports were super cool. But the whole trip started at 9am on the Friday of which I didn't sleep a wink beforehand. I was too excited to be seeing Kat and going to Europe. That and I was downloading torrents for movies and games to play on Bennet's PSP that he gave me. Which I also had to hack to watch and play said movies and games. So I jump on the plane to Calgary and proceed to be stuck there for a 6 hour layover. Balls. I'm hella tired so I find my gate that I'm connecting in to get to Frankfurt and sleep for a couple of hours. Though I must say, airport chairs are not the comfiest things in the world.. Anyways, wake up and look at the time. Ugh, two and a half more hours til I can leave?! I guess I'll go grab something to eat in the food court. I nab some sushi and an iced tea. But I'm still so balls-ass tired that when I go to put the bottle of iced tea on the counter, I totally miss and it falls to the floor and smashing at my feet. And now my shoes are covered in iced tea and tiny bits of glass. Great. That was probably the lowest point of the whole trip. Everything after that was awesome beyond words.
I finally arrive in Frankfurt after a very tiring layover and a 9 hour flight. But I did get to watch Slumdog Millionaire and He's Just Not That Into You. And just for kicks, The Breakfast Club on PSP. Frankfurt Airport is gigantic! It took so long to get from one gate to the other. And it's like a luxury mall too. There were so many high end stores in there for shopping. After about an hour there, I head off to Brussels to meet up with Kat.
Brussels was pretty cool from the little bits we got to see before we hopped on the train for Lille. All the taxis there were Mercedes! I thought that was pretty swizz. And baller!
So finally in Lille, we check into the hotel and make plans for supper. But after both of us being in commute for so long, we ended up just crashing out early.
For the next week it was a mix of getting up early, heading to a cafe, and then walking Kat to her conference. After dropping her off, I would just go exploring and try to find cool places for us to check out together. I swear, I've never walked that much in my life. Some days, I would just go and head up whatever streets looked interesting. After a while of doing that, I would just check back on the map and see where I was and head back to the hotel from there. One time, I ended up a 45 min. walk away from downtown! (Downtown was where we were staying)
There's so much cool stuff to see in Lille! We checked out some great architecture, went to the art museum, the lameballs mall, tons of different cafes and some really cool restaurants. Although Honey & Pie became a quick favourite. They had fresh squeezed juices there. The apple juice was unreal! And pan au chocalat, mmmmmm. I think that's one of the things I miss most. Waking up and heading out for a pan au chocolat and an espresso. I'm not an espresso drinker, but I was in France! The creperies were cool too. Although, they all used the same menu! We only went to 2 different crepe places, but the menus were the exact same! We thought it was kinda funny. Good thing the first one we went to was in French and English. Then we knew exactly what everything was at the second one.
And the shopping. Oh, the shopping... Which we didn't really do much of. Although there's tons of cool boutiques there. Well known and lesser known. But hella expensive. I really wanted this one scarf that I found, but I wasn't about to shell out 75 Euros for it!
After the conference ended, we took off to Brussels. That place was amazing. I had no idea how big tourism is there. There were people in from all over the world. And the city totally caters to them too. All around Grand Place are tons of little shit souvenir shops. And restaurants too. That the maitre'd's are super pushy about trying to get to eat in. "Sweetheart, sweetheart, we got everything you could want. You vegetarian? We got great blah blah blah..." They're like super weaselly used car salesmen. We spent the whole weekend just touring around. Didn't bother to do much shopping at all. We checked out the huge cathedral there. And then the Japanese and Chinese pavillions. And there was some kind of festival going on the weekend we were there, so there was all these different live shows going on in the streets too. We made sure to do the Brussels essentials too. Waffles, fruit beers, chocolate, and French fries. All in all, a fantastic trip and experience.
It made me not want to come home and back to this boring ass North American lifestyle. It's the same old, same old. Still Freehouse 3 lunches a week, and poker all the rest of the time. Although I've been going out a bit more as of late. For the past 2 Saturdays, I've been out. It's kinda weird. I almost forget how to socialize. So many high fives...
This past Saturday was kinda fun. I went out to the office to grind a bit and made a good stack of paper. So I headed back to the city to Freehouse for last call. Then I guess it was 3Feet's last night of spinning at The Fish, so we headed there. They were open til 4am that night. And serving booze still! Hoooooooly! Anyways, it was high five city there. But to a ridiculous extent. And many a drunk Earls girl came up to me to tell me how much they love my sister... Neat. I think these past 2 Saturdays should tide me over for a while. I don't know how much more Ed Hardy I can handle.
What else...? Oh I awoke to the sound of the door buzzer today. Only to find the mailman handing me a package from Korea!!! Thank you so much! I love everything in it! Those Quolomo shirts are the shit! That's so swizz that you nabbed that for me. You probably didn't realize, but the girl on the shirt is Aki Hoshino. She's pretty famous in sneaker world. And Crunky's?! Yesssssssss... Check my fb status...
That's about all I can tell you for now. Playing in this new house game is still going pretty swizz. And yeah... I hope you guys called Twyla on her birthday. We got to talk for a good while which was super nice.
K I'm out for now. I'll try to post more regularly. (Although I say that everytime...) Hey, laziness and procrastination are a bitch. And I possess both. Laaaaaaaaaaaate..

Chris Now Owns Swizz Da Kine Luggage
But why would I need to purchase said swizz Da Kine luggage...? Ummm, maybe cuz I'm going to FRANCE!! Yesssssssssssssssssss...
Hmm, so much has happened since my last update, where do I even start? Well, since Regina, I've pretty much the same thing day in and out. Freehousing at lunches and chino at night. It's only lately that things have gotten pretty exciting.
Rolande was baptized last Sunday. So all the aunts were in town for the week. I only hung out with them last weekend tho. It was f'ing family overload! Dan, Dee, Mike, Lu, Janet, Paul, and Aaron all got in on the the Thursday. Then Elmy and fam got in on Friday. Friday night was a potluck for Devon's going away (he went to Spain) and the boys' bdays. Saturday was a potluck at Edwin's for Rhea's bday. Sunday was the christening and supper at Mandarin. And then Monday was supper at Orlando's again for Logan's bday. What a very fattening weekend that was! I forgot how much deep fried shit is involved at Filipino family get togethers. Goddamn...
And of course, every night is followed up with some poker. I am officially never playing family games again. It's worse than playing at the Dunes! Always getting the money dominating, and losing to a huge suckout when they have no business even being in the pot! I don't want to go too far into it or I'm gonna get Pangry. Grrrr, I can already feel it welling up again. Bottom line, no more family games ever. EVER. Unless we play for stakes that actually matter. Absolute bare minimum, $50. I don't and won't ever "play for fun".
Especially since I've been so broke lately. But that all changed this past week. I finally got to sit in on a private home game that goes on in the city. It's for bigger stakes than they offer at the casino which, in turn, brings out better players. I've heard about it for a while and wanted to get in on it for a long time. Well last Tuesday I finally got my chance. It's so refreshing to play at a game like that. And they do the Seven Deuce prop bet too. The Seven Deuce game is: if you win a pot with 72 as your starting hand, you get $10 from everyone at the table. It makes for some ridiculous action. You never know if someone is raising with AA or 72! It's pretty sweet nonetheless. I love the action there. Especially if I can crush $3500/night like I've done the last two nights I've played there...! Add in a K from the chino and I'm up 8K on the week! Woots!!
So that brings me to leaving to Brussels on Fiday morning. I just finished booking my ticket on Expedia. I'm tre excited!! And it's sweet, Kat gets in two and half hours before I do on the Saturday and leaves an hour after I do when we have to go. So it's Brussels, then train to Lille and kick it there for a week. I don't know what I'm gonna do while she's at conference all day. Probably watch movies and play vid games on my PSP. (Oh yeah, I got a Sony PSP.) Well, I didn't buy one. Bennet gave it to me cuz he's got a DS now.
But it's soooooo swizz. I've spent the last two days figuring out how to mod it. Now it plays games without the cartridges. All I need to do is dl the torrent for whatever game, save it to the memory stick and I'm good to go. And I put a Gameboy Advance emulator on it too. And a PSOne one too! :D
So yeah, that'll most likely take up my days. Then Kat and I will definitely be exploring at night. Yeah, yeah, we'll be sure to take lots of pictures... Her friend, AJ, is even lending her his digital SLR so we should have some really good pics. We're probably gonna check out Paris for a day or two too. We're only there for 10 days and 7 are spent in Lille. Brussels is gonna be badass too. I heard there's a chocolate museum there. And I love chocolate!
This is what all adds up to me buying a swizz Da Kine luggage. Laters for now...

Chris Is Up $180 From Regina
So $180 might not sound like much considering I can smash $500 regularly at Dunes, but it is a very big win. Considering I was stuck 2K by Saturday afternoon. Omg, do I play bad. Or maybe it's the low caliber of players at the Dakota Dunes that has deteriorated my game so much. I am a decent player, but I was very humbled playing Regina.
We got there Friday night around 10pm and rolled straight to the casino. It was of course buzzing with tons of poker players all there for the tournaments. I jump into a 2-5 NL game right from the go and proceed to watch my stack go up and down. I wasn't even meaning to play as tight as I did, but the onslaught of getting face-rag (face card, little card) was the reasoning behind that. And anytime that I did pick up a quality hand, it just would never hold up. But I did manage to pull a $9 profit from that night! Woots, free chicken fingers meal for me... So we shut it down at around 2am since the dude we were staying with was playing the tourney on Sat and needed to head home. And also, he was so belligerently wasted at the table, that he got asked to leave. Lol.
So comes Saturday. We head out to the chino to drop Derek off to play the tourney. Cash games aren't running quite yet, so we hit up the mall across the street for some food court sushi. Back to the chino after that and cash games are beginning to start. I get on the list for 1-2 and 2-5 and head back out to the casino floor. Since I'll be waiting for a bit, why not play some Blackjack to abide the time and maybe try to build a roll? Big mistake. I sit down at the big limit game where the minimum bet is $50, maximum $1000. I buy in for $400 and away we go. It's going ok til I get to a hand where I had to cash another $400 to split 4's against the dealers 6. Which becomes a 14 and an 11. So I double the 11 (I was betting $100 on my squares) and hit a 17. Ok, I'm kinda nervous now. Dealer goes from 6 to 11 (!!!) to 15 (whew...) to bust. Word, ship it! And then brilliant me, I decide to bump the bets to $200 and another guy joins the shoe. It just goes downhill from there. I get stacked for everything plus another $400. Grrr, I shoulda just left after that double... So now I'm stuck $1200 for the day and haven't even started poker yet!
Well, I finally get called to the game and I only have $280 left (I went up with $1500) so I borrow $400 off of Brian and jump into the 2-5. I play super tight, pretty much cuz I have to, and get stacked when I get called down on a semi-bluff. So now it's 6pm and I'm completely busted. F me. I go back to Brian and borrow another $200. He's playing Limit Poker, so he brought a huge bankroll to start with. So with my newly acquired $200, I jump into a 1-2 game. I knew after Blackjack that the day was gonna be a grind, but after getting stacked at 2-5, it's gonne be even moreso. Going down in stakes is so lame too. But the 1-2 was pretty soft. I figured I could make money if I pick the right spots to make moves. And I did. I managed to turn that $200 into $600 by 10pm. At which point, I needed a break so I called up Lucky (a friend that lives there) and we went for a quick bite at Houston Pizza. That's right, not Boston, Houston! Weird...
So back to the chino after that, I get into a 2-5 game right off the hop. Which was pretty sweet, seeing as the lists were all super long, but I've played lots with the floor manager so he bumped my name to the top. :) I sit down with the $600 I've managed to grind back and get JJ first hand. I end up nailing a set on the flop and doubling through a guy who flopped two pair. Swizz balls! Sitting at $1200, $800 more to go. The night goes on, I play super tight and long story short, I'm sitting at $2280 at the end of the night. Which was 6am! Ugh, 14 hour session to win $180, but I'm super happy. Better than being stuck 2K. We roll home after cashing out for some much needed sleep.
Sunday, we all wake up around 2pm, get washed up and head to the chino for one last session before heading home. Nothing too exciting, I'm up, I'm down, and at the end of it, I'm even. F sakes, we coulda just rolled home way earlier and been good. We get home around 2am and I'm super bagged from the day, so I roll straight to bed.
Not a huge bragworthy weekend, but I did learn a lot. And now I'm gonna go super smash the Dunes game. I thought it was soft before, but after playing in Regina, I realize how ultrasoft it really is.

Chris Has A Fantastic Weekend
Ahhh, a sweet weekend come and gone. Kat was here all weekend. She got here Thursday and I brought her back to the airport this afternoon. It was a pretty swizz weekend. Didn't do much besides lay around, watching TV shows mostly. Pretty much all the things that couples who live in the same city take for granted, we spent the weekend doing. Shall we sit in and watch reruns of The Big Bang Theory? Sounds swell! Hey Kat, let's make some grilled cheese sandwiches. What a novel idea! Like I said, pretty swizz.
We did head out Thurs night for drinks with Tats since she was leaving to Calgary the next day. After a sushi dinner at Otawa, we hit up the Freehouse to meet with Cait and Jerrad, then off to Beily's for some DJ Babu and DJ Dopey, which was so lame seeing as we had to sit through 2 balls opening dj's only to have the headliners play for maybe 1/2 hour each. Superwack! But it was still a pretty deece time with all the ballin goin on upindere..! Some Asian gangster shit and Trent Duff, need I say more? Trays and trays of drinks...
So yeah, after that, we call it a night at around 2am. Get home, wash up, bed's calling. We go to sleep only to be woken up by Tatrina. (I told her to call me when she got up so we could go for lunch before her and Logan take off) So phone rings, I look at the time. 10am...? Why's she calling so early...? Oh super, she hasn't gone to bed yet and is tripping balls on mushrooms! Neat. So me and Kat go nab her from Dorian's place and chill with her til she takes off to Calgary. I napped most of the time at her place while she visited with Kat and packed.
That was the most excitement for Friday. After that, we just chilled. Ordered some pizza and watched a movie. Saturday we spent shopping. Didn't really buy anything besides some H2O lotion for Kat. Went to Keo's for some supper and then watched Lilo and Stitch at home. Yes, we spent most of the weekend chilling in with movies and/or TV shows.
Had a nice little Sunday though. After laying around for most of the morning and afternoon, we ventured out to Calories (sorry Dave, but we were craving sweet desserts! And the service wasn't half bad for once...) and had a fun little tea time. Then we went to Bulk Cheese and nabbed some samosas and gouda for a grilled cheese and samosa supper. Something to note, cheese samosas sniff balls. Even drowned in Hammer sauce, they're pretty blech. I highly do NOT recommend. After supper that night, we went and saw I Love You, Man. It was pretty funny. I think you guys will love it when you get around to seeing it. There are some choice moments.
So yeah, that was the weekend. Today I brought her to Keo's for one last lunch before having to head back home. It was a pretty sad day. I hate that we live so far apart. Oh well, it'll have to do for now. I did come up with the idea to marry her roommate so i could get a green card. We'll see how that goes...
For now, it's back to the grind. Freehouse days and casino nights. I'm hoping to smash the rest of this month and next month so I can go to both France for Kat's conference and HK in the summer. HK, I still have some more time to save up for. But France is coming up at the end of April. It's so ridiculous, I can go to France for just a little more than it would cost to go to Nashville. Superballs... And we wouldn't be going to just Lille (where the conference is). It's only a 3 day thing, but we'd be out there for a week, maybe a week and a half. So we'd easily be hittin up Paris, Brussels, maybe London even. They're all really close by train.
Those are just ideas tho so far. First I gotta stack some mad chedds if I'm gonna be able to pull it off. Paul Pang says he might even be able to help out with the airfare. But I don't really want it. He's already helped me out tons this year.
Anyways, that was my amazing weekend.

Chris Forgot He Has A Blog
Ha oops, so I started this thing and maintained it for what, a day maybe? Meh. I've been busy yo. The office has been pretty good lately so I'm out there every chance I get. Except Mondays and Fridays now. Mondays cuz of family supper and Fridays cuz it's me and Kat's only night to really hang out without anything else getting in the way. (Cuuuuuuuuute, right??)
Speaking of, she's coming down next weekend. (Woots!) But just for 4 days. Man, I hope Tatrina doesn't secretly stalk this blog. There goes that surprise... But I miss the Regina tournament weekend again! Regina holds a big tournament every November and March. And the cash games are very lucrative due to the large amounts of tilted people that lose their buyin to the big tourneys and try to win it back right away. I missed it in Nov. to go to Edmonton and spend time with Kat. And now I miss it again. I think she secretly must not want me to ever play in Regina... Meh, it's more than worth it.
Finally made it to another Monday supper (after missing the last two) and nothing's changed. Dad calls too many times to confirm I'll be there. Eat, talk about nothing, and go home. But it was still nice to spend the time. Since I missed the previous two suppers, I took dad out for lunch at McNally last Tues too. That was really nice. We both had the soups with bread and split a carrot cake for dessert. It was really cool to just sit and talk for a change, rather than have him harp on me about my future and what directions I'm heading in.
Nothing else really of note to discuss. Sask is Sask. Boring and cold still. All that's on my mind right now is saving up to hopefully go to France in April with Kat. And maybe HK in the summer. Other than that, it's the same old shizz.

Chris Rules At Tetris
Goddamn, how does one man get to be so good at arranging 4-section blocks into lines? It's absolutely baffling! My scores should be pretty much untouchable, but if you wish to challenge the throne, by all means please do. It will be a valiant effort, but inevitably end in disappointment. If I sound cocky, hey, it's cuz I can be.
I'm officially hooked on competitive cooking shows of any sort, be it Hell's Kitchen, Top Chef, or Iron Chef. I think I really wanna get back into the culinary arts. Watching these shows, as lame as it sounds, is pretty inspiring. I could cook circles around some of these people. I just wish I had more knowledge of different ingredients and cooking techniques. Maybe I should go get my Red Seal. I challenged the first year just from all the experience I had from being prep coach at Earls. And that was a joke. And if Hell's Kitchen was open to Canadian residents, I'm pretty sure I could smash most of the other competitors.
Yeah, this is a pretty conceited post. But it's MY blog, so of course I'll talk aboot me. Yes, I'm aware I wrote "aboot". It's how I like to talk. It's been dubbed "Panglish". There will many Panglish phrases and words to come throughout this whole blog. As well as biters stealing said phrases and words cuz they pretty catchy if I do say so myself.
Oooooh the Friday The 13th remake opens today. And it's Friday the 13th!! Yikees! I was thinking of going to check it out, but no doubt the theatre will be filled eleventeen year old bastard kids like, totally laughing and like, talking through the whole movie, cuz OMG, did you hear what happened to Jen last weekend?? God I hate kids. I'm pretty sure I was a little asshole prick teenager too, but nothing like they are today. I still had a little bit of respect. For the most part anyways...
And can we please start slapping people that still use "Oh snap!" and "That's what she said..." to be funny? I figure it's the only way to get people to stop busting them out. If you knew you were gonna get slapped by any random within earshot of you after laying out said phrase, wouldn't you stop? I think I would just follow people around praying that they let it slip just to show them how mean my pimp hand really is. It's so not funny anymore. You may as well be like, "Wazzzzzzzzzzup!" I think I'm gonna actually gonna start this new trend. Maybe not hard slaps at first, but a semi stern palm on the face should be enough to get started with. And then when the slapping starts catching on, we'll graduate to full on "Bitch better have my money" slaps. Done, aaaaaand done.
Alright, off to make my tetris score even more untouchble and then grind the night away at the office. Piece...
